· Eligible patients will not pay any copayments unless otherwise required by their plan, including Medicare Part B. Vaccines are currently available at most CVS Pharmacy® and MinuteClinic® locations and is no cost with most insurance plans.
For patients covered by health insurance, the typical cost for a meningitis vaccination consists of a doctor visit copay and possibly a copay for the vaccination.
· Most health insurance plans cover the fullcost of meningitis vaccination. Many schools and local health departments offer free or discounted meningitis vaccines for uninsured and underinsured individuals.
· In most cases, health insurance does cover the cost of Meningococcalvaccines. However, coverage may vary based on factors such as your specific insurance plan, your age, and your risk factors.
· Vaccines, including the MenACWYvaccine, are available at CVS Pharmacy® and MinuteClinic® locations at no cost with most insurance plans. The MenACWYvaccine protects against meningitis-causing bacteria groups A, C, W, and Y and is recommended for teenagers aged 14.
· Private health plans are required to cover new vaccine recommendations in the next plan year however some insurance plans may cover them in the current plan year. Check with your insurance provider for details on whether there is any cost to you for recommended vaccines.
