Verkkomothra has no real connection to godzilla whatsoever and often finds herself fighting him, occasionally even being killed by him (mothra vs godzilla, gmk).
Verkkothey definitely do care about each other, as shown by the moments right after ghidorah deals the killing blow to mothra.
I wouldn't say they have any romantic.
