I spent 28 years in law enforcement in Prince William County, Virginia, retiring as a Deputy Police Chief. I am looking forward to connecting with our Citizens and learning about ways in which we can improve our practices and work together to make our City safer.

The agency had the honor of celebrating the nearly 30 year publicsafety career of JacksonvillePolice Deputy Chief Ronnie Dorn. Deputy Chief Dorn was born and raised in Jacksonville, where his lifelong goal was to serve the community he calls home.

CommunityPolicingPrograms – Many policedepartments in NorthCarolina have implemented communitypolicingprograms that focus on building partnerships with diverse communities, increasing communication and trust between officers and residents.

In Florida, the JacksonvillePoliceDepartment successfully met the challenge of a distrustful community of the police department and exponentially expanded its communitypolicing efforts after collecting quality of service surveys from its community residents.

Many of the trainings the JacksonvillePoliceDepartment engages in are offered through Coastal Carolina Community College and North Carolina Justice Academy, and are also available to other police departments in NorthCarolina.
