The Longview Police Department Offers Several Community Outreach Programs To Help Keep Local Neighborhoods Safe And Secure

Successful crime prevention efforts will promote a safercommunity by enhancing the perception of safety and the attitudes and behaviors that help people feel safe. A number of topics are covered in the various sites within the Services area. Please take a few minutes to check them out.

The money is intended to cover the cost of two additional police officers over the next three years. These new officers would be solely dedicated to the Outreach Services Team.

Longview is committed to building a safe, welcoming, and thriving community. Over the past several years, the city has taken major steps to reduce visible encampments, expand outreach, and provide services while ensuring accountability in public spaces.

· We create community partnerships with non-profits and local businesses, conduct outreach and refer homeless to services and assist homeless in making appointments and connecting with community resources.

This initiative helps educate the public and provides a method to donate directly to local nonprofit organizations that are providing critical services to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless rather than giving directly to panhandlers.

· TheLongviewPoliceDepartment began a new program last month to provide identification cards to those who don’t have other forms of valid ID.

The LongviewPoliceDepartment has a variety of programs for citizens to encourage citizens to interact more closely with the police department. All of our programs are open to anyone, regardless of whether or not they live inside the Longview city limits.
