Blackboard is a key tool for managing your coursework, keeping track of assignments, duedates, and grades throughout your time at GVSU. There are two main ways to access your GVSUaccount: Banner, Gmail, or Blackboard can be accessed from the GVSU homepage (gvsu.edu).
· According to a new University webpage, Banner is “high maintenance” and requires a large amount of on-site support resources. Other reasons listed that prompted the transition were product gaps, the need for custom tools, third-party integrations and data access limitations.

· This is the central way you’ll communicate and engage with the university and all of its departments and offices. Banner makes it very easy and convenient for students to keep track of their statuses at GVSU, and to access any information they might need.
· Prepare for Registration – In this section, you can view your registration status and any registration holds on your record. Plan Ahead – In this section, you can create and save registration plans for future semesters. Separate training materials will be available specific to using this feature.
