Students are responsible for arranging their quarterly schedule so that finalexams will not conflict or fall in rapid succession. Normally, examinations will be written, and a maximum time period for their completion will be announced in advance.
Rescheduling an examination during dead week (the week prior to final examinations) is strongly discouraged and will only be approved under extremely exceptional circumstances.
ยท Ideally, studentsshould begin reviewing material at least two to three weeks before exams start. This allows ample time to revisit core concepts, complete practice problems, and identify areas that need further clarification.
The purpose of exam accommodations is to provide you with an equal testing opportunity based on your functional limitations. Alternative Testing accommodations may include extra time, a reader, a scribe, use of a computer, enlarged print, or other accommodations determined by a DSP Specialist.
No instructor is authorized to change these times without prior approval of the Committee on Courses and General Education, and students are responsible for arranging their courses so that their final examinations will not conflict.
Petitions and forms for requesting change in the finalexamschedule should be submitted as early in the term as possible, but no later than the eighth week of the term.
Academic policies and procedures described in this chapter apply to all students enrolled at UCSB. They include procedures related to enrollment and attendance, examinations, course credit, the grading system, graduation, and student conduct and responsibility.
