· This grant will fund two new full-time police officer positions within the LongviewPoliceDepartment’s Police Outreach Services Team (POST) unit. The POST unit provides specialized care and resources for unhoused individuals and those experiencing mental health needs.

The money is intended to cover the cost of two additional police officers over the next three years. These new officers would be solely dedicated to the Outreach Services Team.
