2 days ago · This is an extremely heavily-trafficked trail, and for good reason: it's one of the most fun and accessible routes in the Breckenridge area. Parking is limited, and the parking lot tends to fill up early. From the gentle lapping of water against the reservoir’s edge to the towering pines that frame the landscape, every moment on this trail feels like a postcard come to life. It’s the perfect choice for families, solo adventurers, and anyone looking to reconnect with nature without breaking a sweat. This trail is one of my favorite short walks from the condos close by. The location is easy to find and you follow a tinkling brook up a well maintained trail to the Sawmill lake and old mill. There is a lodge on the lake with kayaks and canoes, as well as a trail around the small lake/pond. This is the perfecthike to bring families and people visiting Colorado. It’s quick, easy and the views are absolutely incredible.
